1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating a Francaisia account or using any part of the platform, you accept these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not create an account.
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Users aged 13–17 must have parental or legal-guardian consent. Paid subscriptions are available only to users aged 18 or older.
2. Service Description
Francaisia is an independent French-language preparation platform focused on TEF Canada A0 foundations. The A0 curriculum (alphabet, sounds, greetings, identity, transactions, sentence patterns) is production-grade. A1 and higher levels are expanding. Content is released over time.
Francaisia is not a TEF certification body and is not affiliated with CCI Paris Île-de-France, IRCC, or any test administrator. Practice and AI feedback on the platform are training tools; official scoring comes only from your real exam sitting.
3. Account Registration
You agree to provide accurate, current information when creating your account, and to keep your password confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain fraudulent information, violate these Terms, or are used to abuse the service.
4. Subscription & Billing
Pro is a monthly subscription billed via Stripe. New Pro subscriptions include a 3-day free trial; you may cancel during the trial without charge. After the trial, the monthly fee is billed automatically until you cancel.
You can cancel at any time via the customer portal. Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep Pro access through the end of the current billing period. We do not provide pro-rata refunds for partial months except where required by applicable law.
Quebec consumers retain their statutory rights under the Quebec Consumer Protection Act, including any applicable cancellation rights for distance contracts.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- scrape, mirror, or systematically download platform content;
- share account credentials or use a single account for multiple individuals;
- resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute lessons, audio, or AI feedback generated for you;
- attempt to bypass rate limits, authentication, or access controls;
- upload audio recordings of any person without their consent, or content that is unlawful, defamatory, or harmful.
6. Intellectual Property
The Francaisia platform, including the Pierre canon, lesson content, illustrations, Quebec-voice TTS audio, exercise structure, and software, is owned by Francaisia and protected by copyright and other laws. You receive a limited, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the service for personal language learning while your account is active.
Your voice recordings remain yours. When you record speaking exercises, audio is processed only for transcription and AI evaluation: see Section 7 and our Privacy Policy.
7. AI Evaluation Disclaimer
Francaisia uses AI evaluation (OpenAI Whisper transcription and GPT-based scoring) to provide heuristic feedback on French pronunciation, grammar, and content. AI feedback is guidance for practice, not a guarantee of TEF Canada performance. Francaisia is not a TEF certification body and cannot predict, simulate, or replace official exam scoring.
You assume the risk of using AI feedback as a preparation strategy. Treat AI scoring as one signal among many; consult human tutors, official preparation materials, and exam-administrator resources where required for high-stakes outcomes.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Francaisia, its officers, and employees are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.
Our aggregate liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the subscription fees you paid to Francaisia in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (including Quebec consumer-protection statutes).
9. Termination
You may delete your account at any time via account settings. Upon deletion, your account data and progress are removed within 30 days, subject to backup-retention windows described in our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law. Where lawful, we will attempt to notify you in advance.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms over time. Material changes will be notified by email to your account address at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. The courts of the District of Montreal have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except where a consumer-protection statute grants you the right to bring a claim in your local jurisdiction.
